Priorities

1. Protect Our Democracy & Your Local Voice

In our corner of Minnesota, we know what it means to show up for each other.

Our democracy should work the same way. Kari will fight to protect the vote, make sure every voice is heard, and fight to make government more honest, accessible, and accountable. No matter where you live, you deserve a real say in the decisions that shape your life.

2. Lower Costs & Strengthen Rural Communities

Working hard should be enough for you to afford your life.

Working hard should be enough for you to afford your life. Kari believes there are practical solutions to lower the cost of healthcare, childcare, housing, and groceries – especially in rural areas where options can be limited. Her job will be to support family farms, promote investment in our small towns, and make sure our schools, infrastructure, and local community services stay strong.

3. Build Communities Rooted in Respect & Opportunity

Our communities are strongest when everyone counts, everyone matters.

We all do better when our friends and neighbors feel safe, valued, and included. Kari will stand with immigrant families, support our older residents, defend LGBTQ+ rights, and invest in public education. When we lead with dignity and take care of each other, we create communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

This campaign is about keeping local democracy alive and making government work for all of us.

We live in a beautiful corner of Minnesota. It’s truly the American Heartland. Small towns, working farms, and real people living real lives. For many of us, it’s the best life.

But our corner of Minnesota is facing serious problems. Our people and communities are struggling, our problems are not being addressed, and we’re being left behind. The people we elect to represent us don’t recognize the problems we’re facing, they don’t focus on what matters, and they don’t have a very good report card for the jobs we elected them to do.

That is certainly the case in the Minnesota Senate.

We elected Senator Torrey Westrom to be our voice in the Minnesota Senate. He should be fighting tooth and nail for our communities, our farms, and our future. But his greatest accomplishment is simply getting re-elected again, and again, and again.

Our current Senator has been in the Minnesota legislature for thirty years. That’s right, 30 years.

He has found a cushy job in St. Paul and he’s not planning to retire anytime soon.

Let’s help him retire. The people in this corner of Minnesota can do a whole lot better.

It’s time we elect a fighter we can trust. A dedicated public servant who can see the problems we’re facing, will listen to every one of us, and is more focused on doing her job than keeping her job.
